Simple Southwest Fruit Salsa

For a sweet treat, try this simple fruit salsa with tortilla chips. It's also great when accompanying grilled chicken, fish, steaks, pork or lamb chops.

  • Total Time: 15 mins. or up to 6 hrs refridgerate


1 can (16 Ounces) Chunky Mixed Fruits or Other Canned Fruits, drained and chopped
½ cup Coarsely Chopped Red Onion
2 Tbsp Chopped Fresh Cilantro
1½ Tbsp Fresh Lime Juice
1 tsp (fresh or Canned) Seeded & Chopped Jalapeño Pepper, or to taste


Combine all ingredients in a bowl.

Let stand at room temperature at least 15 minutes, or refrigerate up to 6 hours before serving.

Tip: Nearly any canned fruit can be used for this recipe. If you use peaches, pears, apricots or pineapples, simply dice the fruit for the salsa. Fruit packed in heavy syrup, lite syrup or juice all work great, but each type will influence the sweetness of your salsa. Also, try combining your favorite varieties of canned fruit.
